Meet the Twins

Cami isn’t the only twin at Halcyon – we also have Maricar and Marilu on staff! So that you can get to know them a little better, we asked them a few questions.

Name: Maricar Cruz

Where did you grow up? Philippines

Tell us about your family! More time to each other, we have a big family that looks out for each other, a little bit crazy, a little bit loud, and a whole lot of love.

What are your hobbies? Watching TV, going to the mall, cleaning, and writing.

What is your favorite color? Blue.

What is your favorite food? Pilipino food, Thai food, Mexican food, Japanese food.

What is on your bucket list? More trips with my family and spending more time with my daughter in everything she does.

What is your favorite movie? Dramas and love stories.

What is your funniest work story? My first day at work, when some of the residents confused Marilu and me. They looked at us and did not know which one was which; they saw double!

What do you love about your job? We are providing care and support to someone who needs it most and helping them to become more independent and confident in their own abilities.

Why did you choose to work at DAHLIA? I choose to work at DAHLIA because every day is a chance to do something different and make a difference.

Do you like working with your twin sister? Yes! Working together is really quite common, especially identical twins who have the same interests. We have always worked together and did all our chores together.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? For sure, I will retire by then and go everywhere with my daughter or grandkids. I’ll enjoy life as much as I can.

What are your hobbies? Cooking, playing puzzles, going to the store.

What is your favorite food? Pilipino food, fruits, chips.

What is on your bucket list? To be with my loved ones.

What is your favorite movie? Disney movies, funny movies.

What is your funniest work story? When Maricar started to work here, even the residents were confused.

What do you love about your job? Being with the residents, cooking, and going to get groceries.

Why did you choose to work at DAHLIA? I LOVE the residents and our program coordinators. That’s why I’ve been here for 20 years.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? Retired, enjoying life, being with my family and friends.
