The Smiles say it all! Camp DAHLIA 2022 was a roaring success!

Board president, Wendy Peloquin eagerly awaited pix from each day. In a note to the management team, she gushed "Just wanted you all to know that you have had me smiling for the past 3 days. Just when I think it can’t get better – G singing Billie Jean with A spinning in her wheelchair and B smiling – had me laughing so hard. And K singing and light-sabering with Farshad – and FARSHAD! Dude, you rock! – and everyone at Halcyon having so much fun!" Here are just a few of the highlights.

Day 1: Hawaiian Luau Picnic

The skies were blue and spirits were high - as were the Blue Angels! We gathered in person for our first picnic since the pandemic. We danced, ate shaved ice and tie-dyed. It was wonderful to all be together again!

Day 2: Sports!

Residents and staff alike supported their favorite teams and practiced their athletic skills.

Day 3: Rockin' the 80s!

We were prepping for our '80s theme auction today! Some of us had way too much fun throwing back!

Day 4: Everyone's a Superhero!

At DAHLIA we think everyone of our staff and residents is a superhero. Today, we just got to dress the part!

Day 5: Pajama Party

Phew! After all the fun we've been having, it seemed like a good day to kick back in our jammies and watch some movies!

Day 6: Hi Ho Silver - We're off to the Wild West

The 2022 Camp DAHLIA is riding off into the Western sunset. Until next year pardners!

There are so many people to thank for making this an epic week for our residents! Here's a shout out to:

• Everyone who donated to our GiveBig campaign! Your generosity allowed us to create a magical event for our residents and fund props that will give us joy for years to come!

• Anne Royal, McKenna Burns & the Camp DAHLIA task force! The incomparable Anne and the uber-organized McKenna headed up a team of staff and board members determined to make this camp the best yet - and they knocked it out of the park!

• Laura Jordan and Bruce Brewer (And Anne too)! Holy Toledo! It was a monumental task organizing and hauling all the props and activities needed to pull this week off. Laura was chief arranger, Bruce was the muscle and Anne was the transportation that made sure our staff had all the supplies in time for each day.

• Edwin & Linda Barber! We ate like royalty all week thanks to nurse Linda and her husband Edwin of Catering by Edwin! From pulled pork to bbq ribs our mouths began to water every day they pulled up!

• The amazing DAHLIA staff! Each day decorations had to go up, activities had to be coordinated and costumes needed to be donned. Then at the end of the day it all had to come down to prepare for the next theme. An awesome task that our team took on and nailed every day!
