3/31 Meet & Greet Recap

Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended our virtual Meet & Greet last evening! If you were unable to attend, don't worry! Here is a recap of last night's discussion.

1. Welcome

2. Auction Update – TJ

   - This year's event will (hopefully) be in person, on 10/22/22. Expect a new format, mix and mingle, heavy apps, and games (booze wagon, cork board).

   - We need help with baskets, themed items, sponsorships. If you know someone, contact TJ and we’ll do the work.

3. COVID Update – Cheryl

   - Revised state COVID response plan just released.

   - For staff, masks are still required. They will continue to wear eye protection when working with residents.

   - Indoor visits are allowed, but outdoor visits are still preferred. Health screening is still required.

   - All staff & residents vaxxed and/or boosted. We anticipate the 4th shot will be required for residents.

4. Legislative Update - Cheryl

   - A 23% funding increase was approved – expected to be signed soon. The goal is to have all care staff at $20/hr. The COVID rate enhancement tapering down over time. 

   - Also in package: employment service or community service inclusion now added together; not either/or for residents, effective 7/1/22.

   - Question asked about unused funds during pandemic. Cheryl stated DDA is still unclear.

5. Recap of March 5th Board Retreat – Mary

   - Amazon Wishlist project  – Laura

   - Wishlists are live. The links are in 3/31 newsletter and will be added to social media and website.

   - Volunteer program: we will be looking for interns and volunteers to help with specific administrative projects.

   - Liaisons: we would love to have a family/guardian liaison to be in regular contact with the Board.

6. Important Upcoming Dates – Wendy

   - GiveBig – May 3-4

   - We do not have a matching partner this year, but if anyone has ideas – please contact us.

   - Family/Board/Management Dinner – May 21st at 5:00 p.m.

   - Summer Picnic – August 7th at Robinswood House

   - Yes to a meeting specific to Estate Planning – emphasize special event

   - Suggest meeting later in the day 

   - Asked for person to act as Family/Guardian Liaison – no response

   - Parents/Guardians: how we can engage more involvement?
